Popular south Indian actress Nithya Menen won 70th National award for her Tamil movie “Thiruchitrambalam”.

Nithya Menen has become a household name in South Indian cinema with her stunning performances in several blockbuster films. With her attractive smile and exceptional acting, she has evolved to be one of the best actresses of this era. Nithya Menen’s acting career took off with her debut in the 2006 Kannada film 7 O’ Clock, followed by her Malayalam debut in Akasha Gopuram in 2008. In 2011, she made her debut in Telugu cinema with Ala Modalaindi and also appeared in the Tamil film 180 in the same year.
Today, she celebrates her first National Award as “Best Actress” for the movie “Thiruchitrambalam“. Let’s find out some of the lesser-known facts about this talented actress.

Started As A Child Artist 

Born on April 8, 1988, Nithya Menen hails from Bangalore, Karnataka, but belongs to a Malayali family. She started as a child artist when she was 10 years old and acted in a film called The Monkey Who Knew Too Much. In the film, she played the role of Tabu’s younger sister. She also acted in a Bollywood film Choti Maa in the year 2001.

Holds a Degree in Journalism

Nithya wanted to become a journalist and even pursued journalism at Manipal University. However, in the second semester, Nithya realised that journalism was not what she wanted to do. Later, she tried her hands at direction. However, she was destined to become an actor.  

Speaks Many Languages

Nithya can speak several languages like Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.  This linguistic versatility has allowed her to seamlessly work across various regional film industries in the South.

Love for singing

Nithya Menen has also done playback singing for over 20 songs of her films. She has sung in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam movies.

Has worked in over 50 films

In the last 10 years, Nithya Menen has been a part of 50 films across different languages. Apart from films, she has also ventured into web series, including notable projects like Breathe: Into the Shadows and Modern Love Hyderabad, further demonstrating her wide-ranging talent.
