Speaking to Times Now, Somy recalled a moment during the filming of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam when she tried to reach Salman. He didn’t answer her call because he was busy with a scene. Somy then called director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who told her that Salman couldn’t talk as he was in the middle of a shot. Somy questioned him, saying, “If he’s in a shot, why aren’t you directing it? Why are you answering my call?” She added that Bhansali was caught off guard and didn’t know how to respond to her.
Somy Ali revealed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan used to come to Salman Khan’s gym when they were living together. Somy and Salman lived on the ground floor of Galaxy, where they also had a gym. When asked if Salman and Ash fell in love while working together at the gym, Somy responded that the actor fell in love while shooting for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
“I was getting information from the servants inside who favoured me. I knew in my heart that their relationship was something that’s going to blossom. I knew it’s time for me to leave,” revealed the actress. After dating for a few years, Salman and Aishwarya broke up in 2002.
