Stree 2, the sequel to the 2018 film Stree, is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2024. Directed by Amar Kaushik and and featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is set to release on August 15, 2024.

The new storyline of the horror-comedy revolves around a headless monster named Sarkate, who kidnaps women in the small town of Chanderi. As the townspeople are terrorized by Sarkate, Vicky, Rudra, Jana, and Bittu, along with Shraddha’s character (who remains unnamed), devise a plan to stop Sarkate. In the trailer, Rudra reveals that it was Sarkate who turned Stree into an angry spirit that haunted men. At the end of the trailer, Vicky decides to seek the help of Stree to confront the headless monster.

Rajkummar reprises his role as Vicky, while Shraddha once again portrays the mysterious character without a name. Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Sunita Rajwar are back as Rudra, Jana, Bittu, and Jana’s mother, respectively. Tamannaah Bhatia’s special appearance in the promotional song Aaj Ki Raat has already created much buzz. Media reports suggest that Tamannaah also plays a key role in the movie. Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar will also be featured in the movie, with their cameo appearances.

Stree 2 is set for a release on August 15, 2024, Independence Day. Advance bookings for the upcoming horror-comedy are now open, and they’ve started on a highly promising note. As per a report by Sacnilk, the Amar Kaushik directorial has already sold over 2 lakh tickets for its opening day with the total collection standing at Rs 7.04 crore. It is clashing with Akshay Kumar’s situational comedy Khel Khel Mein as well as John Abraham and Sharvari’s action drama Vedaa at the box office.
